Oh, yeah. A long and wonderful life. I do hope he was aware of Curiosity before he went.

I'm afraid I wasn't aware he was still alive- save through his books. Yet his death saddens me, amongst the last solitary pioneers (these days it seems all committees and councils), without whom Jodrell Bank wouldn't exist. and the astronomical field would be far different.

He was a fabulous man, a giant in his field. And we get the joy of seeing his telescope all the time.

I can see that telescope every time I leave the house, so long as it's not raining/foggy.
