Portmeirion Wednesday and Thursday
May. 2nd, 2013 11:32 amWednesday started with some dicking about, I had a flat tyre, so a call was made to Green Flag, followed by much spelling of PORTMEIRION and explaining (the car park near the Toll Booths. T-o-l-l B-o-o-t-h) which was a pain, especially as the garage was local so obviously knew where PM was.
Wheel is in a garage in Portmadog, I go to pick it and the new tyre today, so I am, gently, using the spare wheel.
Wandered about Portmadog, up the little hillock behind the council offices which gives a lovely view over Y Cob and of the mountains.
Came back for cocktails at The Hotel, we were going to have them on the lawn but the sun went in so we sat by the log fire and drank ourselves squiffy.
Evening spent doing a very silly RPG involving the Famous Five and a dinosaur possessed by the local police dog (who's a Jack Russell, long story). Much fun had by all.
This morning, having been last to bed at midnight, I was first up at about 6.45 so I had a couple of crumpets and went for a couple of hours walk in the woods, I will pick the tyre up at lunchtime then I'll drive down to Aberdaron.
Weather continues to be stunning! And tomorrow three of us decant to Caer Idris for further holiday.
