Home from five days in Criccieth
Sep. 3rd, 2011 09:23 pmStarted driving 10am, finished driving (after dropping Mum off in Whaley Bridge) at 5pm.
Didn't kill her, though occasionally tempted.
Did lots of walking, about five miles a day, to make up for three square meals a day plus Bedgellert Ice Cream.
Had dinner with local resident, Nick, each night. He bought me a large shoulder of lamb from his farmer friend Griff, which lead to a surfeit of (award winning) leeks. And onions. And carrots. Had dinner with Nick (English but has lived there for 14 years, up on the local gossip), his friend Emlyn (local Welsh handyman, does the paperwork for the Lifeboat, most every man in the village is involved in one way or another with the lifeboat, lots of local knowledge) and Griff (a dyed in the wool old Welsh farmer, not many teeth, very thick accent, not much English but lovely and very interesting).
Photos under cut.
