I remember that one - it was a good programme.

I'm lucky enough to have red squirrels on my local nature reserve of Brownsea Island (in the middle of Poole harbour). Being an island, they still survive there and I see them quite often when I go to help with rhododendron clearance.

It made mention in the programme of the island-like quality of the reserve in Formby. Extensive fields on one side and the sea on the other, plus the eternal vigilance of the locals, mean the greys get no chance to invade the pinewood.

Squirrels are *cool*

It was brilliant. We made a definite choice not to go to Formby today as I'd decided to see a different part of the coast. Bouncing around by the submerged forest was fun but I think squirrels are a more lasting amusement.

Glad you enjoyed it. Only chance I spotted it was on and I remembered that you missed it last time.

Now I need them to repeat the programme about the Hare with the Maddy Prior soundtrack.
