my Sunday walk

6.5 miles past The Flashes, through Marbury and back along the canal.

I set out at 11.45, it started to rain about 12.00 and continued for at least an hour. Gelert Rain Pod earned it's keep, nice and dry. And the rain hat doubles as a sun hat. By the time I stopped for lunch, the sun was coming out. Saw a toad (frog?) by the path, her boyfriend was just climbing off her, but by the time I had the camera, he had gone off and abandoned her. Also met a canal boat cat, a rather rotund (and shy) lady of the water.

Really, really needed that cup of tea when I got back.

Photos as always, under the cut.

Abandoned by her beau

I was steaming as much as the countryside.

But then the sun came out.

She looks like a toad to me.

That was my first thought, though it was lashing it down at the time, as you can tell, so she could have been a moose for all I could see.
Looking at the photos, the rest of which are even less sharp than that one, she's clearly a toad, you can see warts and all.

"you can see warts and all"
That though could mean she's a witch.

Is she heavier than a DUKW?
