Busy week at werk and today I had a case which stretched me, which was good. Helped that the Case Manager is a client (I do name plaques for is kids) and a generally good guy to work with. Days fly by when you are busy.

Came home to a. mad cat. b. reheated veg and cheesy bake c. banana bread beer. Jury is still out on the latter. It's beer, but it smells and tastes of banana bread. Most odd. Birthday pressie from [livejournal.com profile] ealdgyth

And a long, hot shower. Dutchy Originals lavender shampoo. Faith in Nature lavender and geranium conditioner. Portmeirion lavender soap. Original Source lavender and tea tree body wash... I see a pattern developing here. Faith in Nature wins, the lavender and geranium is the most stunning scent.

I have a tomato on the tomato plant [livejournal.com profile] eleyan gave me. You now may be impressed by my horticultural skills.

I've always rather liked the banana bread beer, but it needs to be very thoroughly chilled.

But, for my money, Thwaites' Wainwright is about the best you can get at the moment.

Leffe. Particularly Leffe Brun. Chewy beer. Yum.

I used to love Jenlain Biere De Garde, but haven't had any since Sainsburys stopped selling it.

Lavender is wonderful.....there should be more lavender in the world!...

Leffe Brun is nectar.....most Belgian beer is pure nectar.....I shall be enjoying more when I'm out there at the end of September...

Btw...expect a postcard in the next day or two......I found a few rather amusing ones at the Churchill War Rooms yesterday...and have sent a couple out to friends....*snerk*....

I'm a bit fussy; some lavender is too sweet, old lady scent. Real lavender is divine.

I'm with you on the Belgian beer worship, lovely, lovely stuff.

I have a problem(?) with lavender – it makes me intensely horny.

As far as Belgians go, my preference is for a geuze. I like the sharpness that comes from the wild yeasts. Sadly though, medication says no booze, although I do sneak the odd one from time to time.

I'm currently restricted to super sensitive cosmetics (actually I'm not supposed to get soap or shampoo etc on my right hand at all which is pretty much impossible so this is the best compromise I could find) - so have found myself using Little Me Organics Baby Hair & Body Wash. It's fragranced with lavender and dill and smells fabulous.

The beers that are brewed a la "Lambic" are stupendous...Geuze, Kriek and Frambozen have a richness that doesn't disappoint...I love the sharp cherry in the Kriek the best but being Diabetic have to be careful on beer intake nowadays, so can sympathise with you....
