Portmadog and Portmeirion via Y Cob
Apr. 6th, 2015 07:11 pmThick sea mist in Criccieth this morning, I checked out (with a refreshingly cheap hotel bill as I'd forgotten they had a spring deal running) then drove to Portmadog. Left the car at Lidl/Gelert carpark (only spent £14 in Gelert, I was positively restrained) and walked through town and over Y Cob and up and over the hill in the glorious spring sunshine to Portmeirion. Stopped by the Toll Booths but didn't know anyone who was on shift so I walked down to the Castell to drop off a baby coat for Anwen's granddaughter. Then back over the hill and coffee and Welshcakes in the little cafe on the harbour.
Drove home and the washing is on. Max is pleased to see me, for certain values of the word 'pleased' you understand.
Missing the place already, and it's a whole month and a day until I get to go back. I pine.
