Busy weekend
Aug. 3rd, 2014 07:13 pmSooooo...
Yesterday I was up at 07.30 and did an hours painting then met up with Serena and John for second breakfast at 10.30. Serena showed me the floor plan for the Worldcon Artshow, excited now, and the programme looks excellent, I've never seen such an interesting and wide ranging art stream.
After I finished the shopping I walked up to Marbury, sadly the fabulous food van are selling up and moving up to the highlands of Scotland to open a cafe, I won't half miss them and the restorative power of their tea. I hope someone else picks up the pitch.
There was a terrific rain storm for about 30 minutes while I was in Marbury, fortunately, I was able to shelter in the wooden pavilion.
Came home and did a bit more painting then had a bath as I was cold (!) and tired. Reading Paul Cornell's fabulous London Falling, really, really enjoying it, I'm making it last by only reading in the bath!
Today I was up at 07.30, piddled about on the computer and went for a walk about 09.00, back at 12.30.
The pyrography is all painted. All of it. Done. There are some children's tops and toys to paint but they are optional extras and don't need any pokerwork.
The varnishing is 4/5ths done, I will finish it after work this week.
Every flat surface in the house has drying woodwork on it.
I've ordered the picture frames for the art show pictures, should be with me this week.
One of the two pencil crayon pictures needs about 10 minutes work with some white paint and a 000 paintbrush, a trifle. Art show wood is in a box.
There is still finishing to be done, the boxes need the final going over with a bit of sand paper and everything needs packing.
The fascinator for in my hair in the Masquerade is done.
And I went by the trading estate, 3lbs of plums and 22lbs of cooking apples, no more plums but there are at least another 30lbs of apples to come and this is just off the three Bramleys, I haven't even looked at the not-so-good apple tree yet (big tree, always a good yield, big red apples, cookers or eaters but just not in the class of the Bramleys).
Right, off to have another bath, forgot to put conditioner on my hair so I'm having a Freddy Boswell hair day. http://tinyurl.com/njouzbd
And I've got a good book to read.
