Pimms and strawberries, must be summer
Jul. 5th, 2014 08:11 pmAbsolutely delightful summer day today, made all the better by it not being forecast.
Up at eight, porridge for breakfast, met Serena and John for second breakfast (tea cake and latte). We wonder what we will talk about after Worldcon? Perhaps the three of us will just sit there in stunned silence for an hour every Saturday?
Bought a purple top on the market (Shome mishtake, shurely? Ed) and a pair of capris in Sainsburys which truly defy description and may make an appearance at Worldcon if you are lucky (possibly not lucky if you are hung over). Size 16, natch! Me, in size 16, who'd a thunk a few little walks could do so much.
9.6 miles today.
The cat came back, more specifically, Genghis Kitten, the trouble making, loud half-Bengal who went missing about 3 weeks ago is back in town. He either escaped his cat nappers, they chucked him out or he's just one of those cats who bugger off occasionally in summer.
Max and the other cats are not happy (I wondered why tubbyboy had peed on the sofa bed twice in the last week, the reappearance of Genghis explains all), I think they had a whip round to have him catnapped in the first place.
Bought Pimms to replace the not-Pimms I broke last weekend, but the strawberries got eaten before they could go in, having to slum it with mint from the garden. Ain't life hard.
