Vaguely random stuff...
Feb. 7th, 2014 10:44 pm£5 Chicken (reduced to £3.50) from Waitrose has fed me all week. Breast on Saturday and Sunday with salad, huge pot of curry which did me all week from the dark meat, stock from the bones and two days of cat food. Win. Might do that again this weekend.
I used one of the jars of sauce, found at a wee Londis store near Reading (we were buying beer...) which was made locally, http://www.swaadish.com/, ginger curry, absolutely delicious, may have to go back there, next time I'm down in Reading. This week it will be coconut and fennel. The instructions on the jar say - Simple Honesty, 1. Add it 2. Cook it. 3. Eat it. I can get behind that philosophy.
And I can't figure out why anyone likes white rice when brown rice is just so nutty and flavourful? Nom.
Northwich Artisan Market tomorrow, hope Mum's Macaroons are there!
Tired today, I had tea after 8pm last night (I normally only have decaff that late) so I didn't get to sleep until after midnight, then, for some unknown reason, I woke up at 6am. Sigh. Oh well, lie in tomorrow morning.
Worldcon pyrography continues apace, at least and hour a day about four, five days a week. The plan is to do the pyrography while it's dark in the evening, to colour in the spring when it's lighter at night and then varnish in the summer. None of the work will be wasted, it doesn't go off and can be sold at an Eastercon.
