I got up at 07.00 and caught the 08.50 from Northwich to Warrington, leaving the car in Northwich car park. I was in town by 09.30 and managed to finish the present shopping, before it got too crowded. Hurrah!
I stopped for lunch at a cafe called Shelly's (and found my colleague who had recommended the place in there with her husband), vegetable soup and a fresh salmon sandwich, both good, the salmon was particularly good.

I caught the 12.45 back to Northwich, the bus was crowded and a little girl wasn't feeling well, so someone opened a window and several of us distracted her until she felt better (it was very warm and of course, she was dressed in winter clothing), we closed the window so an elderly couple at the back didn't get too cold, all in all, a genial journey through winter countryside.

Dumped the (heavy) bags in the car and then walked all round Northwich. I'd bought a handcream for my aunt from Boots and on the bus, I realised the box was damaged. No problem, I thought, and took it into the Northwich Boots to swap. Except all the boxes on the shelf there were damaged in exactly the same place. Looks like badly designed packaging, the little black ribbon tab was torn off all of them. They have ordered a replacement for me, I'll pick it up next Saturday. http://www.boots.com/en/Laura-Ashley-Imperial-Bloom-Nourishing-Hand-and-Nail-Cream_1363558/

No country walk today, I didn't get back to the car until about 16.00 and the light was going, so I came home and had a long hot bath, now watching a documentary on Steven Hawking and then we've been talking about comics on FB, I think I might re-read DR and Quinch's Guide to Life with the Hoegaarden Rosée which is chilling in the 'fridge.
