Jodrell Bank is a fabulous venue for a gig, I highly recommend it!
We arrived about 5pm, parked in a field (£15 to park in a field is taking the piss, even if you do have to pay for stewards) and wandered the site. The science zone had exhibits and lots of enthusiastic folks, some from a touring Hadron Collider exhibit, Eric made graphine and we saw it under a microscope. I got to look at the sun through a telescope, saw a fabulous sunspot and solar flare, impressed the astronomer by knowing it was 8 minutes away (thank you, Mr Heinlein).
The Lovell is a fabulous sun shade.
Falafel wrap and Cheshire Ice Cream Farm tub for dinner, over priced cider and a good real ale bar.
Hawkwind were on form and rocked the place, a very Moorcock/Eternal Champion set. Aussie Floyd were fabulous and soon as it got dark enough, the back projection for the gig was on the Lovell dish, just amazing. They had kept the dish turned away from us all day (the back is structurally beautiful, function and form so well done and very impressive, but the dish...) it was working all day, looking at a pulsar. Lasers and smoke machines and brilliant music.
Took us an hour to get off the car park, but who cares, we were still buzzing.

Due to late night, I didn't get up until 10.30, (though Max woke me at 7am to fill his food bowl as he was in danger of Cat Starvation) so I will be tired and out of sorts today. Lots needs doing round the house, cleaning mostly pre-holiday stuff and a shop at Tescos. Will shoehorn a little walk by the canal at about 6pm, I think.
