Yule tree is up.
Dec. 9th, 2012 08:09 pmBut not yet decked, stopped for dinner.
Put up while drinking a glass of nice red and while listening to 'Holy Heathens and the Old Green Man' by Waterson/Carthy.
Rainy and cold and windy morning, I finished a couple of commissions but it cleared up by 1pm so I did a couple of hours round Marbury and Anderton, not the nicest of walking days, wind is bitter but it blew the cobwebs away.
Found a bivalve shell on Marbury Lane which was somewhat surprising, given that we are about 50 miles from the coast.
But a quick Google shows that it was a freshwater bivalve, most likely a Swan Mussel. http://www.lifeinfreshwater.org.uk/Species%20Pages/Swan%20mussel.jpg.html
Right, off to bring down the decorations from upstairs. Will post photo when done.
Dinner had, decorations on tree, some pressies under it. To 'Winter' by Steeley Span.

To the glory of the rebirth of the Sun, all seasonal greetings to you all.
