Yule and New Year

Quiet Yule at best friend's house, walk and much eating of cheese with friends on Boxing Day, more friends 27th.
Three days working 07.30 to 4pm.
A Plokta New Year, drove down to Reading (to save money on petrol and to save on the hassle of driving to London, win/win) on Saturday morning then![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
miramon drove us over to Plokta Central where much Chimay/lamb/champagne was consumed - bohemiancoast slow cooked the huge lamb shoulder I was given in Wales in the summer. Possibly the nicest lamb I have ever had. And vast amounts too.
Just about made it to midnight to watch a remake of the end of V for Vendetta. Isn't that a grade one listed building you were firing rockets from?
New Year's Day, we crawled from our pits and ate rather a lot of fine bacon & sausage, brought from Borough Market bydrplokta then miramon drove us back to Reading through vile rain and horrible spray on the motorways.
We had an impromptu evening withmaeve_the_red and towerofchaos. miramon made an utterly fabulous emergency dinner of pan fried scollops and oysters with egg fried rice and cashews and much good (v.good) wine was drunk. Lovely end to the holidays, the only thing missing was eleyan who is currently in the Antipodes.
