Everyone knows I love "Hell is dark, hell is deep, hell is full of mice" from Divers and Lazarus, by Steel Eye, amongst others.
But I think in Strawhead's "It's a Mad World, My Masters" takes the biscuit. The line in question?
'We find our selves enchained by demagogue, of humbler stock, who have our king arraigned'
I think the weirdest song title is also Strawhead, "The Burial of Sir John Moore After Corunna" not hyperbole, that's what the song is about.
Between my folk songs (ded babies all over the shop and Childe Owlet getting torn apart by wild horses) and musicals (Sodomy from Hair, Sweet Transvestite from RHPS), Al Stuart (Nostradamus, Amy Johnson etc) and most anything by Jim Steinman, it's fair to say that there are some odd songs in my collection.
What's you weirdest?
