Home again, jiggity jig.
Jan. 2nd, 2010 09:36 pmBack from Plokta Towers, tired now, much nice food/wine/gin consumed.
eleyan made the mango cheesecake which ate Walthamstow.
bohemiancoast did her impersonation of Nigela Lawson with something involving chocolate and meringue. Om, nom, nom.
Cleverly managed to avoid snow/sleet, though there was some beside the roads in Stafford and south Cheshire (still get a buzz driving past sign posts for 'Portmeirion' in Stafford!). Lot more traffic going southbound than northbound. Car is good on the motorway but I will have to be careful not to speed; it's much quieter than the Purple Banger so I find myself going way too fast without realising it. The only fault with it I have found is the sun visor doesn't come down far enough (I'm too short in the seat) to shield my eyes from the glare of the low sun.
Max, against expectations, has not demolished the tree. Which possibly proves that he only does it to irritate me and if I'm not here to scream at him, it's not as much fun.
It's coming down tomorrow (the greenery will stay until 12th Night) I'm sure Max will help with this.
eleyan and I went down Walthamstow market this morning. Scored a rayon hippy top (purple, you are shocked, I can tell) and 10 metres of anime print fabric (Ultraman and Battle Spirits(?)) for £1 a metre. This is for best friend's husband, he gets her to make shirts for him. I could spend a lot of money on fabric on that market, oh yeah. But not on anime fabric, it's the fabulous Indian stuff I faunch over, particularly the salwar kameez sets. Need to learn to sew, particularly as 99% of my stuff is really simple shapes, it's the fabric I have orgasms over, not fancy or tailored cuts.
