Made it in one piece.
The took my booze!
I bought Gin and Vodka for me and Flick, at Manchester in Duty Free. Zurich customs took them away because they weren't sealed up properly! That's £20 and more importantly, two one liter bottles down the drain. Had to buy Too Much Expensive Chocolate in duty free. Going to write stiff letter of complaint to Manchester Duty Free.
Apartment is lovely, wood paneled, three vast king sized bedrooms (Flick 'n Mike, Steve 'n Giulia, Alison 'n Steven) two double bedrooms (me and Marianne) and a daybed room for The Wild Animal (Jonathan). Wifi, three bathrooms, bells from local church ringing out, large local orange tabby, all the essentials.
I got in four and a half hours before the rest of the Cabal, showered, lounged, steamed (it was hot and humid). I should have gone on a quest for milk/juice/bread but I was so spaced out, I got up at 5am, to Airport for 6am, flight to Zurich at 9am, flight from Zurich to Montreal at 1pm, got here 3pm local time. I was on the go for hours. Tired didn't even cover it.
Went to bed about 10pm local time, by then I had been on the go for 22 hours. Slept until 7am local time, we went out for breakfast. Montreal looks very civilised but I'm glad I brought PG Tips. There is a good beer shop round the corner.
We should be going out for Taff BBQ to local park but it's just started raining and we can't find a local shop with meat, so we will see.
Will post again later.
