Max is in the dog house part 34503
Jul. 5th, 2008 06:52 pmFor biting me on the cheek when I was grooming him.
I now have two parallel cuts on my lower face and he got a smack so he's sulking.
I watched Northwich carnival today, along with all the other shoppers. They managed to miss the worse of the showers, unlike Altrincham who start at 11am and get drenched every year, it's traditional. Most of Cheshire's Rose Queens, Rose Buds and the like were there on the backs of sports cars from local dealers or sitting in the boots of hatchbacks. Lots of Morris teams (the little girls in mini dress types, not the men and hankies brigade) and a few floats, petty much the same as when I was a kid, maybe a bit smaller and sadder, fewer horse drawn brewery drays and no rag and bone men any more. The local coal man and the rag and bone man both used to be in Altrincham carnival when I was a kid.
I bought a top for my best friend's daughter's birthday. Buy one, get one free. So that would be a whopping 50p for two! Just little velvet tanktops from a seconds shop but nothing I can see wrong with them and it's something to disguise the envelope with the cash in it which is her real present.
Just about recovered from works leaving do on Thursday, dragged myself into work about 10am on Friday and I was one of the first in. Packing up the office is sad and hard on the hands, I bought some gardening gloves today to protect me from cardboard cuts.
I start at HPcds on 14th July, never heard back from the mill so either they found someone they liked more or they are just incompetent. Either way, I have a start day for HP and all the paperwork and get to walk about a stately home at lunchtimes. Yay.
Very sad to hear of the death of Chris Cooper, a lovely man, always linked with the real ale bar at cons in my mind and always a gentleman, in every sense of the word.
