Back from Bradford
Feb. 3rd, 2008 02:03 pmThat was a splendid party.
Though very strange to have be at Saturday night at a con, without the con...
Nice easy drive over the Pennines, snow on the fields but the M62 was clear. Almost all motorway the whole way so 62 miles in an hour dead on.
Liked the hotel, my room was fine, the swimming pool complex was splendid. The staff friendly. The food good, nd particularly the very tender beef stroganoff. And smoked salmon and green lipped mussels! What an unexpected treat. And a good breakfast (lychees!) though there seemed to be coffee supply issues. My tea was Yorkshire strong but not made with boiling water (tea snob? Moi?).
I didn't sleep very well, but that was my own fault for too much red wine. My iBook was keeping me awake by pulsing it's little white heart and I was too tiddly to get up and move it until 7am.
Very nice to see everyone looking so splendid and to catch up with people I don't see often enough. Dancing was fun too, proving I can belly dance to anything from 1950's rock and roll to MeatLoaf.
So I am home safe and warm, lounging on the sofa, drinking real tea. Might need a power nap to keep my strength up...
